The airline confirmed that no staff will face layoffs during the transition, offering employees the option to bid or transfer to other existing bases. This consolidation aims to trim operational expenses while providing the financial flexibility to deepen service along the Florida coast. As part of this schedule optimization, JetBlue will terminate seasonal routes connecting Newark to Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
Simultaneously, the carrier is doubling down on its premium Mint cabin experience. Beginning November 19, JetBlue will launch daily cross-country service from Fort Lauderdale to San Diego. Additional routes featuring the lie-flat business class product will roll out to San Francisco and Los Angeles throughout the winter season, signaling a clear shift in the airline's network priority toward the Sunshine State.
