T-Mobile Overhauls Unlimited Plans with Customizable T-Mix Perks

T-Mobile is shifting its strategy by replacing fixed streaming bundles with T-Mix, a tier-based system that allows subscribers to select digital benefits à la carte. Starting in November, the carrier will offer three plan levels—Standard, More, and Loaded—tailored to provide credits for services ranging from Netflix to Delta SkyMiles.

The new lineup requires AutoPay to access entry-level pricing. The T-Mix Standard plan, priced at $55 monthly for a single line, offers 50GB of premium data and one credit, known as a Pick. The T-Mix More plan costs $75, providing unlimited premium data, 4K streaming, and two Picks, while the $95 T-Mix Loaded tier includes three Picks and a 250GB mobile hotspot allowance. These Picks serve as currency for various add-ons, with basic services costing one credit and premium subscriptions, such as ad-free Netflix or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, requiring three to four.

Subscribers have the flexibility to adjust their selections four times annually, with specific windows designated for swapping services. While the model offers potential savings for individuals who actively use bundled perks, families may find the transition challenging. Unlike previous Magenta or Go5G plans that included taxes and regulatory fees in the sticker price, T-Mix bills these surcharges separately, increasing the final monthly cost. Existing customers are not required to switch immediately, though older plans are being removed from public online listings. For those currently satisfied with their legacy accounts, maintaining the status quo remains the most cost-effective path.
