The new hardware centers on significant performance gains, with Apple claiming up to 12 times faster AI processing and double the gaming performance compared to the previous M4 model. Beyond the processor upgrade, the desktop incorporates the new N1 wireless networking chip, enabling support for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 connectivity. The machine retains its familiar 24-inch 4.5K Retina display, 12MP Center Stage camera, and four USB-C ports, while maintaining the same seven-color palette as its predecessor.
Configurations for the M6 iMac start at $1,499 for the 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU model, climbing to $1,699 for the 12-core CPU and GPU variant. Following the initial rollout on Apple's storefront, the company expects inventory to hit retail locations and authorized resellers by early November.
