The updated notebook retains the physical silhouette of its predecessor while shifting internal performance significantly. The M6 chip packs a 12-core CPU alongside a 12-core GPU and a 16-core Neural Engine. According to Apple, this architecture yields a 30 percent boost in graphics rendering and a 25 percent improvement in AI-driven workloads over the outgoing M5 processor.

Configuration options include memory tiers of 16GB, 24GB, or 32GB, with storage ranging from 1TB to 4TB. The device sports a 14.2-inch mini-LED Liquid Retina XDR display and features upgraded connectivity, including Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6. Physical ports remain unchanged, offering three Thunderbolt 4 connections, an HDMI port, and an SDXC card slot. Power efficiency has seen a notable uptick, with the machine now rated for up to 16 hours of web browsing or 24 hours of video streaming. Available in Space Black or Silver, the new model starts at $1,999, with pre-orders opening October 28.
