The hot honey variant will debut as a Walmart exclusive before arriving at broader retail outlets in January.
Controlling roughly 62% of the U.S. cream cheese market, Philadelphia faces the challenge of driving category growth to maintain its dominance. Beyond flavor innovation, the company is leaning into its historical 'pure dairy equity' through the 'Really Philly good' campaign. Marketing efforts are also shifting toward digital platforms, utilizing TikTok influencers to demonstrate non-traditional uses, such as incorporating cream cheese into pasta sauces or dips. While the company faces a 2% share decline since shelving its corporate split, it is betting that this renewed focus on versatility and consumer reach will re-engage shoppers.
