The shift toward media services follows the acquisition of Legend, a sports and gaming media firm that expanded the company’s reach to 118 million users. While the betting technology division grew by 28% to $117.4 million, the media segment’s rapid climb to $78.2 million underscores the success of the Moment Engine. This tool dynamically adjusts advertising campaigns based on live events, allowing brands to capture audience attention at the precise moment of a game-changing play.

CEO Mark Locke noted that the company now generates better returns for agencies by repurposing the same official data once reserved exclusively for setting betting odds. This dual-use strategy is extending into the burgeoning prediction market sector, with new partnerships involving Kalshi and Polymarket. Genius is providing these platforms with both the data required to settle markets and the customer acquisition services needed to scale.

Financial results for the second quarter show total revenue climbing 65% to $195.5 million. Although the company recorded a net loss of $76.7 million, executives attributed this to one-time costs associated with the Legend integration. Bolstered by early synergies, Genius raised its full-year revenue outlook to exceed $1 billion, signaling confidence that its data-driven advertising model will remain a primary growth driver.
