Forty percent smaller than its predecessor, the new Oura Ring 5 represents the company’s most compact foray into wearable health technology. Unveiled Thursday, the device aims to balance a minimalist aesthetic with a significant expansion of internal software capabilities, marking a departure from the larger form factors of previous generations.
The device hits the market on June 4 with a starting price of $399 for standard silver and black finishes. Customers opting for specialized aesthetics—including Gold, Stealth, Brushed Silver, or Deep Rose—will pay a $100 premium. While the hardware footprint has decreased, the functional suite has grown significantly, centering on a new Health Radar system. This feature operates in the background to track blood pressure and nighttime breathing patterns, providing users with consistent physiological monitoring.Beyond hardware refinements, Oura is integrating more advanced software tools into its companion app. Users gain the ability to track live workout data and interact with an AI health assistant designed to provide context for personal metrics. The platform also includes specific insights regarding GLP-1 treatments, signaling a shift toward more clinical-grade utility. Although a standalone charging case is available for $99, the core value proposition rests on these software enhancements, which are now open for pre-order via the official Oura website.
