The outage surfaced as users returned from the weekend, initially manifesting as widespread connection errors within Microsoft Outlook. By midday, the scope of the failure expanded significantly. Microsoft’s official status dashboard confirmed that the problem reached deep into the company’s business infrastructure, impacting SharePoint Online, Microsoft Purview, and the Microsoft 365 Admin Center. For administrators unable to reach the dashboard, the company provided specific incident tracking codes, MO1465074 and EX1464935, to monitor progress.

Technical recovery proved difficult throughout the evening. While Microsoft deployed mitigation measures to restore core connectivity, the company reported that certain infrastructure segments resisted the re-applied authentication components. By late Monday, mail flow began a gradual return to normal, though search functionality remained sluggish and backlogged email queues created a lingering bottleneck for users. Microsoft continues to monitor the environment to ensure the stability of the restored services.
