To access the tool, viewers select the "Your custom feed" button on the home page. The system functions like a chatbot: a user might request videos to "unwind after work" or ask for content outside their typical viewing habits. Once generated, these feeds can be pinned to the homepage, where they refresh with new material over time. Prompts remain editable, allowing users to fine-tune the selection if the initial results do not match their preferences.
This rollout follows a testing period that began in November 2025. The update arrives alongside a separate initiative to improve AI content labeling across the platform. While YouTube is moving to make these disclosures more prominent for general users, the company confirmed that such labels will not yet appear on YouTube Kids, citing existing safety policies and the absence of descriptions on children’s content.
