The four apps cover common work at home, school and in personal projects. Word has detailed formatting controls, while Excel’s Dynamic Arrays support functions such as FILTER, SORT and UNIQUE to create results that update when source information changes. PowerPoint can record presentations with voice and video and add closed captions. OneNote provides a place to gather notes for classes, projects and planning.
The desktop apps can also be used offline with files stored locally, so an internet connection is not required to continue writing or working in a spreadsheet. The license is linked to a Microsoft account rather than the computer itself, but it covers only one Mac or PC. Outlook is not included.
The deal listing says the price is $119.97 through Nov. 8, down from $149.99. Prices are subject to change.
