Prime subscribers do not need an Uber Eats account to place an order through Amazon. Amazon will manage the ordering process and delivery alerts, although Uber Eats will issue the receipt. Members will pay no delivery fees on orders of $25 or more. For the next two weeks, they can also get $20 off each of their first two Uber Eats orders of at least $25.
The change ends a relationship that began in 2022, when Amazon Prime members received a free Grubhub+ subscription. Amazon and Grubhub extended the arrangement in 2024, turning the membership into an ongoing Prime benefit. Both companies confirmed their partnership will end Thursday.
Amazon previously operated its own food-delivery service, Amazon Restaurants, but shut it down in 2019 and shifted to partnerships. The move to Uber Eats gives Prime members access to a service with a larger reported share of the U.S. food-delivery market: Foodspark puts Uber Eats at 23% to 26%, compared with Grubhub’s 6% to 8%.
