A20 Pro Benchmarks: Apple Retains Its Performance Crown

The iPhone 18 Pro has officially set a new performance ceiling for mobile hardware, comfortably outpacing its closest competitors in synthetic tests. Powered by the 2nm A20 Pro chip, the latest flagship pushes Apple’s silicon further ahead, leaving rivals struggling to keep pace with its raw computational output.

A20 Pro Benchmarks: Apple Retains Its Performance Crown

In controlled Geekbench 7 testing, the iPhone 18 Pro recorded a single-core score of 3,959 and a multi-core score of 10,854. Graphics performance appears equally robust, with the device hitting 61,194 in the GPU benchmark. These figures underscore a roughly 25 percent improvement over the iPhone 17 Pro Max, cementing the A20 Pro’s status as a dominant force in mobile architecture.

While the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy in the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra remains the only chipset capable of approaching Apple’s metrics, the gap remains distinct. On the older Geekbench 6 platform, the iPhone 18 Pro reached 4,673 and 12,483 in single and multi-core tests respectively, significantly outperforming the Google Pixel 11 Pro XL and the Samsung Z Fold 8 Ultra. Despite these impressive synthetic gains, the real-world impact remains nuanced; while the hardware is undeniably faster, average users are unlikely to notice these gains unless upgrading from older devices. The true test for the A20 Pro will arrive next month, when the foldable iPhone Duo—which utilizes the same silicon—undergoes evaluation to see if its unique form factor influences thermal or processing performance.
