Benedetto Vigna Defends Ferrari’s Polarizing Electric Debut

A sharp drop in share price followed the unveiling of the Luce, yet Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna remains unmoved by the backlash. Benedetto Vigna Defends Ferrari’s Polarizing Electric Debut

The debut of the 550,000-euro vehicle triggered immediate friction among investors and industry veterans, including former executive Luca di Montezemolo. Despite the negative sentiment, Vigna maintained that the automaker would not alter a single detail of the rollout. Ferrari has kept specific sales targets for the Luce under wraps, though current order books across the company’s entire lineup remain secured through 2027.

While critics questioned the market appetite for a battery-powered Ferrari, internal data suggests otherwise. Reports indicate the company capped production for the model at just under 500 units for the current year, a quota that was fully exhausted within two months of the May 25 launch. With total annual sales of 13,640 vehicles, the company continues to rely on its reputation for scarcity to insulate its financial performance from public skepticism.
