The new eBike range, manufactured by N+, features an integrated handlebar display that streams live footage from a rear-mounted camera. This setup works alongside a radar system designed to alert riders to vehicles approaching from behind, effectively eliminating the need for cyclists to turn their heads in traffic. The automotive influence extends to a sophisticated lighting system: an LED strip along the top tube functions like a car's brake lights and turn signals, glowing red or amber to communicate maneuvers to surrounding drivers.
Beyond the frame, Volkswagen has introduced a connected ecosystem to bolster rider protection. A Bluetooth-enabled Smart Helmet includes a built-in accelerometer to trigger automated emergency text messages in the event of a crash. Additionally, the company is offering Smart Glasses that project navigation and blind spot alerts into the user’s field of vision, using display technology derived from fighter jet head-up systems.
The Sport eBike is priced at $3,999, while the Crossover model begins at $4,349. Both are currently available for preorder, with deliveries projected for the fourth quarter of 2026. Early adopters who secure a preorder will receive the Smart View Package, a $699 value, at no additional cost as the company moves toward final certification.
