Early Black Friday iPad Sales: What to Buy and What to Skip

Retailers are rolling out holiday discounts weeks ahead of schedule, offering a strategic window to bypass shipping bottlenecks. While some entry-level models are currently priced at their best levels of the year, premium tablets have yet to reach the deeper discounts recorded during October's Prime Day event.

Early Black Friday iPad Sales: What to Buy and What to Skip

The standard iPad featuring the A16 chip currently sits at $399, a $50 discount that mirrors its Prime Day pricing. This remains the most reliable pick for casual users, students, or as a secondary device for media consumption. Conversely, buyers eyeing the iPad Air or the 13-inch M4 iPad Pro may want to exercise patience. Those models are seeing modest cuts of $50 and $74 respectively, falling well short of the $100 and $200 discounts seen earlier this autumn.

Market volatility, fueled by recent hardware price hikes and component supply constraints, complicates the outlook for the remainder of the season. The 7th Gen iPad mini with the A17 Pro chip is currently available for $545, down from $599. While this is a practical choice for those needing a portable e-reader or email companion, it remains slightly above the $499 low point achieved during the October sales. Unless immediate hardware needs arise, holding out for deeper price drops on high-end Pro and Air models could prove beneficial as the shopping season progresses.
