The third generation of Meta Ray-Ban glasses leads the hardware refresh, featuring six microphones for improved voice capture, spatial audio, and adjustable temple tips. Retailing from $449, the collection emphasizes fashion-forward options, including collaborations with Blackpink’s Lisa and new frame styles like the aviator. While Zuckerberg positioned these as the primary form factor for AI interaction, he also introduced the Meta Audio Glasses. Priced at $249, these camera-free frames serve as a thinner, more accessible entry point for users seeking integrated AI assistance without visual recording capabilities.
The most ambitious hardware addition is the Meta VR Glasses, scheduled for a spring 2027 release at $1,299. Weighing only 100 grams, the device aims to bridge the gap between traditional headsets and everyday eyewear. It supports the full Meta Quest game library, Xbox Cloud Gaming, and a new Hologram Calling feature that projects life-sized avatars during conversations. Beyond entertainment, Meta is pivoting toward utility by turning its smart glasses into FDA-approved devices for mild to moderate hearing loss, offering a guided assessment tool that bypasses traditional medical appointments. After a year of limited availability, the company also confirmed that its high-end Display glasses are now officially for sale at $799.
