The updated Ask Music interface allows listeners to dig into the metadata of their library. During a live demonstration, creator Derrick Gee illustrated how the tool identifies session musicians, such as bassists, and instantly surfaces other tracks featuring those same performers. Beyond personnel, the system now tracks sampling history and identifies songs or albums that served as creative inspiration for a current track.
YouTube is also leveraging AI to address its growing podcast catalog through a new feature called Your Podcast Lineup. Rather than relying on static recommendations, this tool generates personalized AI-curated podcast summaries based on individual user interests. By weaving these discovery tools into the core music experience, the company is signaling that its audio division is no longer a secondary platform, but a central pillar of its ecosystem.
