How to claim your share of Apple’s $250 million settlement

The litigation centers on claims that Apple advertised advanced Siri capabilities and Apple Intelligence tools that were not ready at launch. While the company denies any wrongdoing, it opted to settle rather than face a prolonged legal battle. Eligibility is restricted to U.S. residents who bought an iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, or any model in the iPhone 16 series during the specified window. Owners must not be Apple employees or representatives to participate.

To initiate a claim, users must visit the Smartphone AI Settlement website and provide their device's serial number, which can be found in the General section of the iPhone settings menu. The deadline to file is December 21, 2026. Submitting a claim effectively waives the right to pursue future litigation against Apple regarding these specific marketing claims. Alternatively, users may choose to opt out of the settlement by the same December deadline, preserving their right to sue individually, though this forfeits any share of the current payout. Following a court hearing scheduled for February 24, 2027, approved payments are expected to be distributed in the months thereafter.
