Apple Launches macOS 27 Golden Gate With Siri AI Integration

The centerpiece of the Golden Gate update is the revamped Siri, now operating as a standalone application. Leveraging Apple's Private Cloud Compute platform, the assistant can generate text, draft emails, and perform visual analysis through the Mac's camera. Users can further personalize the experience by adjusting the assistant's voice pitch, tone, and pacing. Beyond voice, the OS brings Spatial Reframing to the Photos app, allowing for post-capture angle adjustments, and introduces organized tab grouping in Safari to manage complex browsing sessions.

Automation becomes more accessible with the new "Describe a Shortcut" feature, which lets users build complex workflows simply by explaining their needs to the AI. Apple has also bolstered parental controls, enabling guardians to monitor app usage and approve web access via the "Ask to Browse" tool. While these features are available immediately for Apple silicon-equipped devices—including the 2026 MacBook Neo and various Mac models from 2020 onward—the company plans to expand functionality in future updates, specifically targeting automated contextual suggestions in Mail and a new password management utility.
