Family Offices Pivot Toward Public Equities as Market Confidence Grows

Single family offices grew their stock holdings from 34% in the first quarter to 37% by the end of the second, according to data from the CNBC Family Office Portfolio Tracker. This reallocation reflects a broader trend of institutional investors prioritizing liquidity and public market growth over the more static returns of private holdings.

Addepar CEO Eric Poirier noted that the move highlights a heightened comfort level among wealthy investors regarding current equity valuations. Despite persistent concerns over market concentration and potential bubbles, these firms are doubling down on their positions. Poirier emphasized that this transition marks the most significant quarter-on-quarter movement in asset distribution observed over the past four years.
