Alison King
Alison Rosamund Kingis an English actress and model best known for her work in British television. She first gained wider attention for playing Lynda Block in the Sky One football drama Dream Team, appearing in the series between 1998 and 2003, and later returning from 2005 to 2007.
King became a household name after joining ITV’s Coronation Street in 2006 as Carla Connor, a sharp, ambitious and often troubled businesswoman. Her portrayal of Carla has made her one of the soap’s most recognisable stars, with the character involved in major storylines covering romance, betrayal, addiction, trauma and personal reinvention.
Her performance on Coronation Street earned her major industry recognition, including Best Actress at the 2012 British Soap Awards. Alongside her acting career, King has also worked as a model, but she remains most closely associated with her long-running role on the ITV soap.
