Bernard Manning
Bernard John Manningwas an English comedian and nightclub proprietor who became a prominent figure in British entertainment during the 1970s.
He rose to national attention through television appearances on programmes such as The Comedians and The Wheeltappers and Shunters Social Club, where his direct delivery and club-style humour made him widely known.
As public attitudes shifted over time, Manning’s material became increasingly controversial, and he appeared far less often on television in the later stages of his career. Despite that decline in broadcast exposure, he remained active on the live circuit and continued performing in venues until his death.
