Leslie Dawson
Leslie Dawson was an English comedian, actor, writer, presenter and pianist who became one of Britain’s most distinctive comic performers.
He was widely recognised for his deadpan delivery, gloomy on-stage persona and carefully crafted routines, which often included jokes about his wife and mother-in-law.
Dawson also became known for his musical comedy, particularly his deliberately off-key piano performances, which showcased both his timing and technical skill. Over the course of his career, he established himself as a popular television entertainer and one of the most memorable figures in British comedy.
