The most visible addition is the new Write with Siri button, now accessible directly from the keyboard in Mail, Notes, and Messages. Previously restricted to highlighted text, the tool now allows users to initiate assistance immediately. Siri also gains minor quality-of-life adjustments, such as the ability to delete multiple conversations at once within the standalone app. In the settings menu, Apple has introduced a Visual Intelligence toggle for image searches, though the company notes this triggers data sharing with third-party providers.
Financial tracking is also expanding, as Apple adds an Insights feature to the Wallet app. This tool aims to aggregate spending data, recurring transactions, and account balances in one hub, though it currently remains non-functional for most users. Other refinements include the ability to use AI tools on RAW images in the Photos app and improved visibility for wind speed data in the Weather app. Notably, these AI-driven enhancements remain unavailable to users in the European Union due to ongoing regulatory friction. Apple plans to release the final version of iOS 27 this fall alongside new hardware, cautioning that current builds are intended strictly for developer testing.
