The Android 17 update introduces a Bubbles interface, allowing users to run apps in pop-up windows managed by a dedicated bar. Content creators gain a dual-recording feature that captures both selfie camera footage and screen activity simultaneously. For foldable hardware, a new gaming mode transforms half of the display into a digital controller. Security remains a priority, with the inclusion of Live Threat Detection and refined parental controls that allow for content filtering and screen time limits without requiring a linked Google account.

The accompanying June Pixel Drop integrates Gemini Omni, enabling users to generate and edit video content through text prompts or create custom AI avatars. Music creation is updated with the Lyria 3 model, while Pixel 10-series devices receive AudioLM speech-to-voice translation. Additionally, Quick Share functionality now extends to Pixel 9a and 8a models.

Wear OS 7 brings live updates to the wrist, allowing users to monitor sports scores or delivery tracking in real-time. The interface now supports remote control of connected speakers and headphones, alongside instant viewing of photos taken with smartglasses. Safety improvements include automated emergency service contact triggered by fall, pulse loss, or car accident detection.
