Google’s Unreleased Pixel Watch 5 Surfaces on Caribbean Seabed

A scuba diver off the coast of St. Martin has recovered what appears to be an unreleased Google Pixel Watch 5 from the ocean floor. The device, which still retains a reserve charge, was identified by Gearbox Software founder Randy Pitchford, who shared images of the waterlogged wearable on social media.

The photographs reveal the branding "Pixel Watch 5" etched into the watch casing, though the device shows significant signs of its time submerged. Despite the harsh environment, the screen remains functional enough to display the time, though the battery appears severely compromised. Pitchford noted that the owner of the watch has been identified, and arrangements to return the device are currently underway.

While this discovery confirms the existence of the hardware, it offers little insight into its final technical capabilities. Previous reports from August 2025 suggest the watch will likely feature a proprietary Google Tensor chip, codenamed "NPT," alongside new health tracking features such as blood pressure and arterial stiffness monitoring. Google has yet to comment on the incident or confirm the device's specifications. If the company maintains its current development cycle, an official release is expected in August.
