T-Mobile has launched a promotional campaign offering the new iPhone 17, 17e, and 17 Pro models at no upfront hardware cost to customers who switch carriers or upgrade their existing service plans. The deal requires a 24-month commitment to specific postpaid service agreements to secure the full device credit.
The offer structures vary based on the specific model chosen. Customers can claim the iPhone 17e for free by porting their existing phone number from a competitor and activating a new line on most T-Mobile postpaid plans. Securing the standard iPhone 17 requires a similar switch to an Experience Beyond or Better Value plan. For the iPhone 17 Pro, the carrier requires a trade-in of an eligible smartphone in any condition, provided the user is enrolled in an Experience Beyond plan. While the hardware is marketed as free, the total retail cost is covered through 24 consecutive monthly bill credits. Users will see a charge for the device financing on their monthly statement, which is then offset by a corresponding credit. Participants should be aware that leaving T-Mobile or canceling service before the two-year term expires triggers an immediate requirement to pay the remaining balance on the phone. Beyond the hardware commitment, customers remain responsible for applicable sales taxes and a $35 activation fee.
