Platinum card members now gain access to specific financial perks, including the ability to apply their $600 annual lodging credit toward premium Airbnb Luxe properties. Additionally, these cardholders qualify for a $250 statement credit on eligible Airbnb Experiences following a Luxe reservation. The reward structure varies by tier: Platinum members earn five times the points on prepaid Airbnb bookings, while other eligible members accrue two times the points.
This expansion arrives as American Express faces intensifying competition in the premium credit card market. Since raising the annual fee on its Platinum card to $895, the company has aggressively invested in exclusive perks, such as airport lounge renovations and high-ticket event access. The move aligns with persistent consumer demand for travel and luxury experiences, a sector that has remained resilient despite inflationary pressures on airfare and hospitality costs.
