The 990 PRO remains a high-performance choice for demanding workloads, including video editing and high-fidelity gaming. It reaches read speeds of 7,450 MB/s and write speeds of 6,900 MB/s. When stacked against the previous 980 PRO model, this drive provides a 55% improvement in random performance and a 50% increase in power efficiency, ensuring faster data transfers without spiking energy consumption.
Amazon is also extending discounts to the smaller capacities in the 990 PRO lineup. The 1TB model is currently marked down to $259.84 from $319.99, while the 2TB version has seen a sharper cut, falling from $639.99 to $409.99. These deals provide flexible options for those who do not require the full 4TB capacity but still want the performance benefits of Samsung's flagship hardware.
