Microsoft confirmed the issue through a security note, noting that the severity of the malfunction varies significantly between different server environments. While some systems remain entirely unaffected, others face complete service outages. The company advises administrators against uninstalling the problematic update, as this could compromise the underlying security integrity of the server.

To restore functionality, Microsoft recommends a manual registry modification. Administrators must open an elevated Command Prompt on the affected Exchange Server and execute the command: reg add "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Rpc" /v EpmapSavedContextCap /t REG_DWORD /d 65536 /f. A system reboot is required to finalize the fix, which serves as a temporary measure until the company releases a permanent software patch.
