Antigravity A1 drone adds wrist-mounted controls for solo flight

By replacing bulky VR headsets with a 1.72-inch touchscreen watch, Antigravity is fundamentally changing how pilots interact with the A1 drone. These new wearable remotes allow users to capture cinematic selfie footage while maintaining visual line of sight, effectively bypassing the need for a dedicated spotter during recreational flights.

Antigravity A1 drone adds wrist-mounted controls for solo flight

The new Follow Me Bundle shifts the A1 from a strictly immersive experience to a versatile tool for active solo filming. The Watch Remote serves as the primary interface, featuring a touchscreen that handles manual flight, preset cinematic movements like Spiral Ascent, and the Deep Track feature. When active, the drone autonomously follows subjects at speeds up to 22.4 mph, allowing users to frame their hikes or cycling trips without manual intervention.

For more granular control, the system includes a Ring Remote, which pairs with the watch to enable gesture-based flight. By holding a button and moving their arm, pilots can guide the drone’s position in real-time. While the ring requires some acclimation compared to the precision of the watch’s sliders, it offers a quick way to adjust framing on the fly. Antigravity has also introduced snap-on propeller guards to provide extra physical security, rounding out a kit designed to make the 360-degree camera drone more practical for everyday outdoor use. The full bundle is available for $799, with discounted upgrade paths provided for existing A1 owners.
