Industry anticipation centers on the debut of the first MacBook Pro models featuring OLED displays and touchscreen functionality. These devices represent a significant hardware pivot for the company, arriving on the heels of the September launch of the iPhone 18 Pro. The October 28 presentation, scheduled for 10 a.m. PT, follows earlier autumn releases, including the HomeView smart display.
Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman suggests the event may also serve as a stage for a refreshed iPad Mini, which is expected to adopt an OLED panel. Prospective buyers should prepare for higher price tags. A global memory crisis has driven costs upward throughout 2026, with the iPad Mini rumored to reach a $799 starting price—a $200 jump from its predecessor. With the M5 MacBook Pro already positioned at $1,999, the integration of new display technology and advanced silicon will likely push the costs of the upcoming Pro laptops even higher.
