The Bengaluru hub will house corporate functions across the Nike, Jordan, and Converse brands, serving as both a manufacturing engine and a gateway to India’s rapidly expanding sports culture. According to official projections from India’s IBEF, the nation's e-commerce sector is expected to climb from $159.25 billion in 2026 to $332.94 billion by 2031, providing a lucrative backdrop for Nike’s expansion efforts. The company plans to share further operational details during an investor day next month.
This aggressive push into South Asia arrives as Nike struggles to stabilize its international footprint. The brand recently reported a 26% revenue decline in Greater China, where domestic competitors are increasingly eroding the market share of Western labels. While Hill maintains that China remains a top priority, the company is concurrently executing a $2.5 billion cost-cutting initiative dubbed the 'Pace' strategy. By pivoting toward India’s surging consumer base, Nike aims to offset ongoing volatility in North America and China, betting that local innovation and deeper market integration will restore its competitive edge.
