The rollout begins with service between Boston and Fort Lauderdale, followed by connections between New York’s LaGuardia and Florida. Passengers can expect seats with five inches of recline and seven inches of additional legroom compared to standard economy, paired with Bluetooth-enabled entertainment and priority boarding. CEO Joanna Geraghty framed the move as an effort to marry the airline’s signature hospitality with the comfort levels travelers increasingly demand on shorter flights.
JetBlue is structuring the new cabin around three fare tiers: Base, standard BlueFirst, and Flex. While the entry-level Base tier includes priority check-in and one checked bag, the higher-tier Flex option adds full refundability and same-day standby flexibility. Introductory pricing is already live, featuring promotional rates such as $299 for flights between Boston and Fort Lauderdale. This overhaul coincides with a broader restructuring of the airline’s fare classes, intended to bolster profitability by diversifying options for travelers who prioritize space and convenience over budget pricing.
