Externally, the new unit retains the familiar black chassis and silver remote design of its predecessor. The architectural overhaul occurs internally, where the integration of the A19 chip—the same silicon powering the iPhone 17 and iPhone Air—provides the necessary performance for advanced Siri AI capabilities. Users can now interact with the assistant vocally without needing the remote, even while media is actively playing.
The device also introduces a practical convenience for household management: Find My integration. Users can trigger an audible alert from the remote to locate it if it slips into furniture cushions. Preorders are currently open through Apple and Amazon, with the official release scheduled for mid-November.
