The updated Mac mini packs the M6 chip, featuring a 12-core CPU and 12-core GPU, into a five-by-five-inch chassis. The hardware includes 16GB of unified memory and a 256GB SSD, designed to handle demanding local AI workflows and creative tasks. Performance gains are driven by a new Neural Accelerator integrated into the GPU cores, alongside a Dual 16-core Neural Engine.
Connectivity options cater to modern setups without requiring external hubs. The front panel provides two USB-C ports and a headphone jack, while the rear houses three Thunderbolt 4 ports, an HDMI port, and a 2.5Gb Ethernet jack capable of supporting three external displays. Wireless capabilities are upgraded via the N1 chip, introducing support for WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 6. Users already integrated into the Apple ecosystem can utilize features like iPhone Mirroring and universal copy-paste to sync their devices seamlessly.
