The new product range spans from entry-level sensors priced at $39.95 to the high-end $399.95 LG Floodlight Cam. The collection also includes a smart deadbolt, video doorbells, and various indoor and outdoor camera configurations. According to Matthew Costello, Apple’s VP of Hardware Engineering, the goal is to provide a reliable, private ecosystem that functions seamlessly with existing Apple devices through a simple one-tap setup process.
Alongside the security hardware, Apple is refreshing its connected home lineup with a new HomePod Mini, an updated Apple TV 4K, and the HomeView display. Availability begins this December at Apple retail locations and online, though distribution varies by region. While the U.S. and Canada will receive the full suite of devices, the UK market will focus initially on the LG camera lineup. Meanwhile, regulatory hurdles regarding Siri AI integration mean the Apple HomeView display will remain unavailable in the European Union at launch.
