Starting October 23, the device hits general retail, but those securing preorders early can leverage significant bill credits. Customers trading in a qualifying smartphone with a minimum value of $230 can unlock up to $1,200 in savings, provided they commit to a 36-month installment plan on an unlimited data tier. This arrangement effectively drops the monthly hardware cost from $55.56 to $22.23.
Beyond the primary trade-in incentive, the carrier is offering an additional $800 to help switchers clear existing balances with their current providers, alongside a $200 online-exclusive discount per line. While the headline savings are substantial, the fine print requires caution: the $1,200 discount is applied as 36 monthly credits. Customers should be aware that cancelling service or downgrading to an ineligible plan before the three-year term concludes triggers an immediate demand for the remaining balance. Additionally, upfront costs include state sales tax on the full retail price and a $35 connection fee.
