Ellison frames the consolidation as the creation of an unparalleled content engine, bolstered by a massive sports portfolio and the enduring reach of CBS. Alongside co-CEO Ynon Kreiz, the leadership team plans to bifurcate their responsibilities: Ellison will steer creative vision and long-term strategy, while Kreiz assumes the role of integration architect, tasked with day-to-day management. Their immediate objective involves merging the HBO Max and Paramount+ platforms into a singular, cohesive streaming destination.

The path ahead requires navigating significant regulatory pressure. To resolve antitrust litigation brought by state attorneys general, Skydance has committed to a stringent theatrical release schedule, promising at least 30 films annually by 2027 and 2028, scaling to 32 films per year through 2031. For Kreiz, a veteran turnaround specialist, the challenge lies in capturing fragmented audiences during a period of industry-wide instability. Ellison, meanwhile, aims to leverage his background as a producer to maintain the company’s identity as a filmmaker-focused creative hub.
