The updated hardware features a flush-front display for the standard Kindle, a design choice previously reserved for premium Signature Editions. New aesthetic options include ube, alpine sky, and seaglass green, alongside an aluminum back panel on the base model. Pricing remains consistent with the previous generation, starting at $149.99 for the 16GB Kindle and scaling up to $319.99 for the high-end Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition.
Beyond the e-readers themselves, Amazon is expanding its accessory ecosystem with the $34.99 Kindle Click. This haptic remote allows for physical page turns and brightness adjustments. Other additions include a dedicated page-turn cover priced at $79.99 and a sling bag for the standard Kindle. While the basic Kindle and Kindle Kids versions are currently in stock, the rest of the portfolio—including the new Colorsoft models—will arrive in late October. A dedicated charging stand for the Paperwhite remains without a firm launch date, though the company is offering email notifications for interested buyers.
