Anand will manage enterprise technology, infrastructure, and engineering teams, tasked with modernizing how the company builds and distributes its digital products. D'Amaro described the hire as essential to his broader mandate: using technology to serve storytelling while streamlining operations across the firm’s sprawling divisions. The appointment follows a series of internal moves aimed at bolstering Disney’s streaming and parks businesses, which currently drive the company's financial growth.

Beyond this executive shift, Disney is refining its direct-to-consumer strategy under new chairman Adam Smith. The company is exploring an ad-supported tier for Disney+ and plans to bridge the gap between media consumption and retail. By integrating streaming with consumer products, theme parks, and gaming, leadership hopes to create an ecosystem where intellectual property remains the primary engine for audience engagement.
