T-Mobile Offers Free iPhone 17 Models Ahead of New Apple Launch

With anticipation mounting for the upcoming iPhone 18 reveal, T-Mobile is clearing inventory by offering the iPhone 17 series at no cost this weekend. The promotion targets customers willing to switch carriers or upgrade their existing plans, though the offer comes with mandatory upfront fees that complicate the zero-dollar price tag.

T-Mobile Offers Free iPhone 17 Models Ahead of New Apple Launch

The carrier’s current promotion includes three distinct tiers for the iPhone 17 lineup. The entry-level iPhone 17e is available for free to customers who switch to almost any qualifying T-Mobile plan, with no trade-in required. Those opting for the standard iPhone 17 can also secure the device for free, provided they trade in an eligible handset and commit to either an Experience More or Experience Beyond plan. For users eyeing the iPhone 17 Pro, the device is free if they bring their existing phone number to the carrier on an Experience Beyond plan, bypassing the need for a trade-in.

While the devices are marketed as free, the financial commitment is not zero. T-Mobile requires customers to pay local sales tax on the full retail value of the phone at the point of sale. Additionally, each line is subject to a $35 device connection fee. These costs serve as a reminder that the promotion necessitates a baseline investment before the monthly service credits apply, yet the deal remains a significant discount for those planning to update their hardware before the next generation of Apple technology officially hits the market.
