DJI Unveils Osmo 360 II With 8K Upgrades, Skipping U.S. Market

Announced Thursday at IFA 2026, the Osmo 360 II marks a clear attempt by DJI to reclaim high-end territory. The device improves upon its predecessor with 8K recording at 60fps and 4K slow motion at 240fps. DJI has also integrated dual 1-inch square sensors capable of 14.5 stops of dynamic range, a direct response to the increasing competition in the panoramic camera space. The addition of replaceable lenses addresses a common pain point for action videographers, mirroring a design feature previously popularized by the Insta360 X-series.

Software enhancements round out the hardware refresh, most notably the inclusion of AI SuperNight 2.0 for low-light noise reduction and the debut of Spotlight Follow on the 360 platform. This tracking tool, borrowed from the Osmo Pocket line, uses AI to keep subjects centered in 4K 30fps footage. Connectivity also sees a minor upgrade through an NFC-enabled pairing system for the DJI Mimo app.

Despite these additions, the physical footprint remains unchanged, maintaining the 100-minute battery life and 105GB of internal storage found in the previous model. While the device hits shelves globally on September 15—retailing for approximately $500 in Hong Kong—the ongoing friction between DJI and the U.S. government keeps the product off American store shelves. Consumers in the U.S. seeking the new hardware will be forced to rely on third-party channels, as DJI continues to struggle with the regulatory environment limiting its local operations.
