Rob Kaffl, Ford's head of U.S. sales, confirmed the company is finally overcoming the lingering impact of aluminum supplier fires that throttled output for much of the past year. Dealers should expect a consistent influx of new inventory over the next 90 days, bringing supply lines back to historical norms. Ford manufactured 57,504 F-150 units in August, a volume the company claims is now aligned with pre-disruption levels.
Despite this manufacturing surge, the broader retail picture remains difficult. F-Series sales are down 10.9% year-to-date, with a 1.2% dip recorded in August alone. Ford is now banking on "gross availability" to restore dealer confidence and stabilize market share after nearly a year of sustained downward pressure on volume.
