The Cove series features three distinct models: the M1, P1, and X1. Each speaker utilizes JBL’s proprietary AI audio boost to calibrate sound based on room acoustics, protecting the hardware while optimizing output. Setup is designed for rapid deployment, with the manufacturer estimating a three-to-five-minute configuration process via the JBL One app. The system integrates Auracast for seamless room-to-room connectivity and a "Music Follows Me" feature, allowing users to transfer audio between devices with a single press of a physical button.
The entry-level Cove M1, priced at $229.95, houses three soft-dome tweeters and serves as the foundation for the series. Moving up the tier, the $399.95 Cove P1 adds portability and an IP56 splash-proof rating, offering up to 14 hours of battery life and an up-firing tweeter. At the top of the range, the $449.95 Cove X1 focuses on immersive 3D audio, leveraging Dolby Atmos and a dual-driver configuration to create a wider soundstage. While the M1 and P1 models are designed for integration with JBL’s MK2 soundbar for home theater setups, the X1 is currently positioned primarily for high-fidelity music playback. Preorders for the entire collection are open now ahead of the September 13 retail release.
