Samsung Unveils 1,100Hz Gaming Monitor for the 2027 Odyssey Lineup

The centerpiece of the 2027 Odyssey lineup is the 27-inch Odyssey G6, which Samsung claims is the world's first monitor to reach the 1,100Hz threshold. Utilizing a fast IPS panel with a 1ms response time, the device features a Dual Mode capability that allows users to toggle between 1,100Hz at HD resolution and 600Hz at QHD. This push toward high-frequency performance aims to eliminate hardware limitations for professional gamers, according to Hun Lee, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics.

Beyond the G6, the company expanded its roster with specialized OLED options. The 49-inch Odyssey OLED G9 offers a 360Hz refresh rate at Dual QHD, or a high-speed 720Hz mode at lower resolution. The 32-inch Odyssey OLED G8 introduces a Triple Mode, enabling shifts between 360Hz 4K, 520Hz QHD, and 680Hz FHD. Finally, the 42-inch Odyssey OLED G7 rounds out the series as a 1000R curved display with 4K resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate. While pricing remains undisclosed, the flagship 1,100Hz G6 is scheduled for a global release in the second half of 2026.
