The investment group, operating under the name 1892 Holdings, is spearheaded by businessman Amit Bhatia, a former co-owner of Queens Park Rangers. The capital injection is led by K5 Global, with additional backing from EE Capital, the family office of Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin and Elaine Saverin. While Bezos remains the lead investor behind the K5 fund, he will not hold a seat on the club’s board. Instead, Bhatia is set to become vice chairman, joined on the board by Bryan Baum of K5 Sports and Elaine Saverin.

Under the terms of the agreement, the consortium holds an option to transition into majority shareholders at an $8 billion valuation within 12 months. Fenway Sports Group, the club’s current owner, views the partnership as a way to integrate global expertise in technology and business into their long-term management strategy. FSG President Mike Gordon emphasized that the group’s philosophy aligns with the club's traditional approach to sustainable growth. This investment arrives as Liverpool continues to cement its status as a top-tier global franchise, currently ranked as the fourth-most valuable soccer club in the world.
