DJI Debuts Mic Mini 2S With 32-Bit Float Recording

The Mic Mini 2S mirrors the form factor of its predecessor but integrates high-end features previously reserved for the flagship Mic 3. Each transmitter now includes 14.5GB of internal storage, providing roughly 22 hours of recording capacity. By utilizing 32-bit float audio, the device captures a significantly wider dynamic range, allowing users to salvage audio that would otherwise be lost to clipping or excessive noise floor. To further assist with clean capture, the system includes two levels of adaptive gain control and AI-driven noise cancellation.

Connectivity receives a substantial boost, as the new receiver supports up to four transmitters simultaneously, doubling the capacity of the original Mic Mini 2. The system maintains backward compatibility, allowing users to mix and match older Mini and Mini 2 transmitters within a single four-unit setup. This cross-compatibility does not extend to the larger Mic 3 series, which remains separate. For those in the UK, pricing starts at £79 for a single-transmitter kit, rising to £169 for the dual-transmitter bundle. Due to ongoing regulatory tensions between DJI and the U.S. government, the device will not see an official stateside release, leaving American users to rely on third-party import channels.
