T-Mobile offers new iPhone 17 models at no cost

Switching to T-Mobile or upgrading through specific service plans now grants access to the latest Apple iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro without an upfront hardware cost. While the devices are branded as free, the promotion binds customers to a two-year commitment through recurring monthly bill credits.

To claim the standard iPhone 17, customers must trade in an eligible device and enroll in either the Experience More or Experience Beyond plans. The iPhone 17 Pro offer is structured differently, requiring users to switch to T-Mobile and port their existing phone number to an Experience Beyond plan, which bypasses the need for a trade-in.

The economics of this deal rely on a 24-month financing agreement. T-Mobile offsets the retail price of the handset with monthly credits that cancel out the device's financing charge on each bill. Should a subscriber choose to cancel their service or upgrade to a future model before the two-year period concludes, the remaining balance on the phone’s full retail value becomes due immediately. Beyond the service contract, customers remain responsible for standard sales taxes and a one-time $35 activation fee.
