Samsung Previews AI-Powered Smart Glasses

First unveiled at Google I/O 2026, the glasses will launch with four distinct frame designs. Unlike traditional augmented reality headsets, these devices eschew built-in displays, focusing instead on a suite of sensors including cameras, microphones, and speakers. The hardware serves as a conduit for Gemini AI and Samsung Bixby, allowing users to interact with their Android smartphones and Wear OS devices through voice and visual capture.

Won-Joon Choi, Samsung’s COO of mobile experiences, confirmed that the glasses offer 9 hours of battery life on a single charge. The accompanying carrying case provides an additional seven full charges, emphasizing portability for daily use. By integrating these tools directly into eyewear, the partnership aims to shift AI interactions away from handheld screens and into a more ambient, wearable format.
